Contract for Players

As a registered player of Greystones Football club I agree to the following:

1.        I will attend matches  and training regularly and on time.

2.        I will never disagree with the referee’s decision. If I disagree with a decision, I will have my coach or manager approach the official during the break or after the competition/match etc.

3.        I will not bully or take advantage of any player. Any form of bullying will not be accepted in the club.

4.        I will be a good sport. I will applaud all good plays whether they are made by my team or by the opposition.

5.        I will participate in football for my own enjoyment, not just to please my parents or coaches.

6.        I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of all players regardless of their gender, cultural background, ability or religion.

7.        It is important that you don’t have secrets. If someone is causing you harm or distress, it is important that you tell someone you can trust. You have a right to be safe.

8.        I am responsible to discharge any fines imposed by the ruling league resulting from disciplinary hearings where I am named (if player 18 or over)

9.        I agree to my picture/image being published/made available for publication by Greystones United Football Club Ltd. This publication can include but not exclusively mean on the club website, in promotional material and in the print media

10.     I agree by signing that I commit to making myself available for majority of matches and training sessions during the season


Contract for Parents

As a parent of a registered player I agree to the following:

1.        I will not force my child to participate in football if it is something that they do not want to take part in.

2.        To teach my child that doing one’s best is more important than winning and to praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard regardless of whether they win or lose.

3.        To abide by the rules of the Greystones United football club as outlined on the website www.guafc.ie.

4.        To respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person involved in the football club regardless of gender, cultural background, ability or religion and will teach my child to do likewise.

5.        To be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game and training session.

6.        To refrain from engaging in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane languages or gestures.

7.        To teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve any conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.

8.        To respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game. I will use proper Club procedure to resolve any grievances I may have.

9.        To do my best to ensure that my child is on time for all training and matches,  to collect them on time and to notify the manager if unable to attend training or match.

10.     To treat all Club officials, match officials, players and supporters with respect. I will not interfere with or abuse officials, players or supporters during matches or training.

11.     To be always vigilant and look out for the welfare of all children involved in the football club and not just my own child. It is my obligation to report to the football clubs Child Protection Officer Pius Finnegan or the Registrar Michelle Healy if I have any child protection concerns regarding any of the children involved in the club. In the case of a serious child protection concern you should contact the Greystones duty social work team on 01-2877311/01-2877617 or the Greystones Garda station on 01-6665800.

12.     To show appreciation for all coaches, officials and administration – without them my child could not participate.

13.     I am responsible to discharge any fines imposed by the ruling league resulting from disciplinary hearings where my child in named (if player 18 or under)

14.     In the event of my child requiring medical attention for any reason during club activities I consent to his/her referral to a doctor/Hospital as the club sees fit. I also give consent to the Doctor/Hospital concerned to carry out such treatment or operative measures considered necessary including the administration of a general anesthetic.

15.     I agree to my child’s picture/image being published/made available for publication by Greystones United Football Club Ltd. This publication can include but not exclusively mean on the club website, in promotional material and in the print media

16.     I agree to providing 3 hours voluntary time to club during the season


The club reserves the right to add additional terms and conditions at its sole discretion at any time. All members are bound by these changes.
